Fishing is a major area
activity and there are many fishing options when you visit Pine
Acres Resort. The biggest attraction to the area would be the
great fishing on High Falls and Caldron Falls Flowages.
Both are Class A Muskie
waters and there are also healthy populations of Northern Pike,
bass, trout and pan fish. There are 14 public boat launches
along the flowages to provide easy access.
Both Caldron Falls and
High Falls have published maps available to guide you to the
best spots and help you navigate. You can also download these
Lake Survey Maps provided by the Wisconsin DNR.
There are other fishing
opportunities beyond the flowages. There is a fly fishing area
on the Peshtigo River just south of Johnson Falls, and Marinette
County has about 700 miles of trout streams, more than anywhere
else in the state of Wisconsin. Most are considered Class A,
with naturally reproducing populations, and many are on wild
and secluded county forest land, yours alone to enjoy.
There are also many spring
fed lakes in the area that will give the smaller lake fisherman
a chance at big bass, trout, walleye and great pan fish action.
In the winter, ice fishing
is enjoyed by many, with a number of popular fishing derbies
on local lakes throughout the season.
When you stay at Pine Acres
Resort, we are ready with almost anything you need to make your
fishing time more enjoyable. Our location on the Woods Creek
Outlet makes fishing on High Falls flowage very convenient.
Services that we offer
include waterfront lodging, our new Marina right on High Falls
Flowage, boat, motor and canoe rentals, bait and licenses, guide
services, a fish cleaning facility with running water, fish freezing,
and more.
